WORKS ON WHITE
This series of work was based on an exploration of the ephemeral… growing from a line from a Coleman Barks' translation of a Rumi poem: “Dissolver of Sugar, dissolve me/if now is the time.” The text in these pieces are selected lines from Rumi and Haze poems. Most of these works are painted with gum arabic on large pieces of paper . The gum arabic alternates between disappearing or catching the light as the viewer shifts their location in relation to the work; similar to the way these truths can glimmer into and out of our awareness.
